Dining Out - Tsukada Nojo

Met S & J for dinner on the 15th Day of Chinese New Year (元宵节). It is a reunion dinner with the family we choose. :)

We queued for Tsukada Nojo at Plaza Singapura for the better part of 30 minutes so we can try their signature Bijin Nabe (translated as Beauty Hotpot), a collagen-rich chicken broth hot pot. For $25++ per pax, you get a fixed portion of different hot pot ingredients which the server will cook at your table for you. The 'soup' is delivered to the table as white globs that once heated using the induction stove melts into a delicious creamy rich broth.

Bijin Nabe

The first cup of broth served to us was super satisfying and left me wanting more. Towards the end of the meal, the broth becomes a lot saltier after continuous heating evaporates the soup, so it is not as yummy as at the beginning of the meal. My suggestion would be to scoop out as much of the soup as possible at the very beginning without compromising the cooking process.

When you request for the check at the end, they serve complimentary cubes of fruit jelly with an adorable cartoon syrup drawing and a nice message.

A Cute My Melody

It is a good casual dining option if not for the fact that there are always long queues to get in.
